Would you pay a five-digit figure for a counterfeit Morgan?

PCGS would gladly fork out money to remove these from the marketplace, considering every penny they spend doing it, through PayPal, will be refunded so all it costs them is time. ;) And by doing so, PCGS protects their name and product. :thumb:

Anybody spending that kinda money would surely have checked this sellers previous auctions & spotted this sellers other auctions on 8-16-'09 & 6-8-'09 for selling alleged fakes . I'd say this seller ended the auction because ebay has already warned him about fake coins & another negative sale would ban him from ebay. This seller porbably contacted the highest bidder, since he has there name, address & phone #, and offered to sell the coin off the ebay sight & making up an excuse as to why he ended his auction early. Either way this seller sells the coin I'am thinking:headbang: I also looked at the begining of this auction and it started out at a very high starting bid by a buyer who made 2 high bids and dropped out of the bidding, this is a very weird auction.:rolling:

The seller did not try to sell the coin to the highest bidder. In fact, he contacted that bidder to tell him he had been told the coin was counterfeit, that he had ended the listing and was going to show the coin to a dealer.

The above notwithstanding, I am not saying that the seller wasn't originally trying to pull a scam. I don't know, either way

While I am glad that nobody got hurt on this one, I am really sad to see how many coins this seller has sold. I wonder how many were the same scam and how many happy customers for now are going to be in for a very saddening and shocking reality check sometime in the future. If this seller were not so stupid and greedy he would close up shop now, before he gets a knock on his door from the feds, alas, I think that visit is coming to him very soon. For me the sooner the better, and anybody else, for that matter.

I saw someone in communication with the seller but did not see anything stating they were the high bidder. Guess I need to look into some better glasses.

I think there's a little talking going on on the sidelines, that we aren't aware of. ;)

I'm still a bit upset by this entire ordeal. The seller has more auctions going on, has sold counterfeits in the past and is still allowed to play. I'm sorry, but fraud is fraud and the seller is a practitioner of fraund. They need to be gone, is my opinion.

When I was in the Caribbean, we called it:

    As the Anchor Drags!

Since this is CoinTalk, I guess it would be:

    As the Coin Rolls!

This could turn out to be a book and movie. Brad Pitt would play the buyer and Anthony Hopkins the evil seller. The rest of us would be chattering munchkins.
