I have yet to answer the poll and have not read all the responses. Still I will put this possibility forward. I can see one problem that could indeed become a fairly large one if CT were to start an auction format. As we know there are largely varying degrees of experience and knowledge on this site. This is a major reason many newbies join. To learn. One can never stop learning. I do so all the time. We share opinions and even "bicker" a bit here and there. That's fine. As much as I detest ebay my fear would be an influx of people who really have no desire to be here other than sell. I would also fear that they would try selling the same garbage we see on ebay and taking advantage of the newbies. How many times have a bunch us of "email bombed" a crooked seller on ebay then have them join CT to "defend" themselves? It has happened and usually they end up being booted off or just leaving. Would we want those same people joining CT, posting the required number of posts then going to nothing but auctions and targeting a new audience of newbies? I'd sure hate to see it. I haven't been selling much as of late myself. I still use CoinBug but believe me the first time I saw an SGS slab on there I about had a grabber. Having auctions could "dilute the honesty factor" we share here. Just my opinions of course. I'm "typing out loud". clembo
