    A 65?
The cheek hit is pretty severe but everything else looks very clean for a 64.

It certainly is a deep and distracting hit. Not going to make a guess but I do love O mint Morgan’s.

    In the past yes.

    Now? who knows.

It is a prime focal area, so it may hold it back.

    Nice coin, by the way

very nice coin, and yeah that hit is probably what kept it from a 65-66 grade... but still a very beautiful coin in MS64

I'd say yes. I think at the time, that mark held it back. It looks like a much higher grading coin to me.

For what it's worth - I like it ! And in my opinion the coin is correctly graded as it is. And, being in that slab there are more than a few collectors who would find it highly desirable.

are ya paying attention Frank ? @Treashunt :)

That's a pretty severe mark. I think its okay at 64 (and the slab toning is attractive), but I wouldn't like it at 65.

I’d grade it MS-64 plus it’s one of those 1904-O dollars with a sharply struck reverse. That’s a big plus in my opinion, but few people seem to note it.

Sorry, but grading is...still...all over the map. Days are not done when less than something of that mark and in a less-conspicuous location still "details" coins. You got lucky...likely because of the TPG (or the day). That said...indeed...a very nice Morgan and very glad it made it.

It looks right in a 64 holder.

it's a terrible coin, if I was you I'd mail it to me here in Mississippi. :D. All jokes aside it's a very beautiful coin and you are lucky to have it. congrats on the possession.

Beautiful coin but that mark is in the exact spot to keep it from 65, imo

    I never said I disagreed --

Simply that if re-submitted it could go up, or not.

    Be still my heart!

I initially chose to ignore that part of he post, since I figured that you were undergoing some form of therapy, and I didn't want to bring attention to your moment of weakness.

[PS: Good luck with the therapy.]

Even with the hit, I think it's a well above average 64/64+
And *without" the hit, it's a 6+ in my opinion.
