Thinking about sending this very nice Morgan to NGC. Thoughts? Possible Grade?

Do you know what I think would make this thread very interesting, informative, and educational?

Tell us why you would consider sending this coin to a TPGS and paying what - $6 postage each way ($12) plus a grading fee ($16?). That's about $28? It is probably more.

As I wrote: That should start a fine, informative discussion. What's it grade? I can't wait.

Interesting toning on the coin, bring out the details and honestly looks better in person. Thank you guys for the input.

It's a lovely coin with original skin and all, it the cost of the plastic would be about as much as the coin is worth. I'd say keep it raw.

Yeah, even with the toning and perhaps a little luster, XF-40 at best.

Return shipping would be more like a standard $25 +/-

Jeeze those guys charge a lot. One of the reasons I don't send anything in.

Not worth slabbing. Even for coins worth $100 (this one isn't:)) grading fees can be a hefty investment. If you're not worried about economics, but you just really like the coin and want it in a slab, ANACS would be best (cheapest) IMO. Also I think it may be more like VF30-35.

Keep it raw. That's a nice circulated coin.

Very nice coin and I can see why you want to preserve it. Instead of having a TPG encapsulate it, give it a nice distilled water rinse, an acetone rinse and seal it in an airtite yourself.

Agree with the guys abpve, nice coin, not worth sending in, but nice to keep in raw in collection.

I wouldn't send it unless and maybe if it has sentimental value to you.

Original skin. Chocolatey brown. What's not to like about it? Too many blast white examples everywhere. Enjoy it as is imo. Pop it into an album or a flip.

If you don't have an album put it in an airtite.
