once upon a time, in late 80s and early 90s there were circulating banknotes in abundance, specially beautiful were the 50 piasters and the 100 egyptian pounds banknotes. today, I only have one piece of the 50 piasters not in a very good shape and nothing else from childhood except for coins. Recently I have seen these very banknotes online, they are currently rare and if you get them you would pay more money than purchasing a banknote from the 1960s. I kept searching for any trace of them in my old piles, unfolded all books for a left behind piece this or that, none, asked family if they have any, and when i showed them their photos, we ended both regretting not keeping them. it is not the case of them being expensive here. it is a case of nostalgia more. these banknotes when they first appeared, unlike other banknotes that were in circulation, they looked special and elegant. If I had kept them somehow back from the 80s, I would have been in a climax now rather than regret!!

but I was just a kid.

I learnt from this that any banknote can be worth something something in the future, regardless of its abundance today. the future of any coin or currency can very devious.
