Guess that with a general topic such as this one, political comments are almost unevitable. But I doubt that such "who was the more evil villain" debates make much sense here. Just one comment - you wrote about the "complete end of Jewish Civilization in Europe". Well, if that was true, the nazis would have achieved what they wanted to achieve. 80 years ago, Jewish life in, say, rural Eastern Poland sure was different from Jewish life in, say, Berlin. However, in Germany for example there are about 100,000 Jews today - fewer than before the nazi years (about 500,000 in 1933) but at least in bigger cities it would be easy to find a Jewish community.

One thing I have always found strange is the use of Fraktur fonts on German coins from the nazi years. Most 20c and 21c coins from around here had and have uppercase Antiqua characters, with all characters having the same height. Fraktur in all caps looks awful, and if you "properly" combine uppercase and lowercase, you get varying heights. Interestingly, those Fraktur fonts were used on all Nazi Germany coins, even though in 1941 the nazi regime decided that Fraktur was "Jewish" and hardly used it since then. On coins they stayed though, and the Allied Occupation coins used Fraktur too. It wasn't until 1948/49 that we got back to, umm, normal characters. :)

I don't want to drift this off, but the Jewish population within Germany itself is largely new, and nothing close to the unique civilization that existed before 1933. The Nazi's were fairly successful at their goal of ending Jewish civilization in Europe. It is dead in Europe, although there is some life to it in England.

Its hard to take you seriously when you repeat myths that were debunked before i was born... The Nazis were bad, we all know that.. but when people repeat things that are false is can make people doubt the things that really did happen..

Recently there was a Muslim man in Israel that had consensual sex with a jew and apparently she did not know he was not Jewish, He was jailed for rape after she found out... I cant think of any other western country where somthing like that would happen...

What about rational hatred? Israel has done plenty to cause people to hate it..

No they haven't. People like you don't need an excuse to hate Jews. There is always some excuse.

It's good to read things like you post from time to time, because it is a healthy reminder that i never can let my guard down against Anti-Semites like yourself. They are always lurking, looking to kill Jews, harass Jews, and to construct any twisted argument necessary to justify your hatred of the Jewish people. The safety in America and Israel is temporary and always need to defended.

All Europeans genetically can trace their ancestry to the Middle East and to Africa before that. So do Europeans have the right to move back and displace the people living there?

You remind me of some black people that are always thinking that they are being discriminated against and that every one is a racist out to get them when in reality 99% of the time its all in their head.

The comparing Israel tot he Nazi's, denial of the uniqueness of the Nazi final solution, redefining of the term anti-semtism to promote bigotry, and posting unrelated political propaganda to continue your point and bigoted continuance belligerent postings with multiple users on this thread, is anti-semetic and harassment. There was nothing in this thread for you to voluntarily drag mideast politics, or for you to compare the Nazi's to Israel, which first you didn't do but name, but than like a Klansman, unhooded yourself with a bunch of false accusations. People on this forum are entitled to discuss Nazi era Coins without your bigoted and anti-semetic interjections. We are also allowed to discuss Israeli Coins, Jewish Coins, and any other coin topic without you comparing Israel or the Jewish people to the Nazi's. To do so is HARASSMENT.

There are other forums for this type of argumentation. I kept hoping some would get the direction from others to stick with the coins rather than the political/religious atrocities of the time. This last page is just too much. Closing the thread.
