    1771 Bavaria thaler, a very common and cheap thaler in low grades!Personally,i find this particular type very beautiful!

    I only see the beautiful city view reverse. What about the obverse ?

    I apologise for not replying earlier. I just came back from holiday.

    I think the silver was the same purity (0.924 ?) but the weight was less. An Act of Parliament of June 14 1686 increased the ratio of Scottish to English coinage from 12:1 to 13 2/45:1 (which remained until the Act of Union in 1707). My coin has a weight of 27.56 g and the Coincraft catalogue gives a range of 27.3-27.7 g. The English William & Mary crowns are 29.6-30 g.

    1568 Saxony thaler!This bust/armour of Augustus is the reason why i've started to collect thalers.It was a 1583 VF-,the first piece that i've bought and only recently managed to get a better one,with strong details.

    Germany City of FREIBURG im Breisgau Taler n.d. (1714)

    This coin was struck to commemorate the Treaty of Baden (Switzerland), signed on 7 Sept. 1714, which ended hostilities between France and the Holy Roman Empire after the War of the Spanish Succession.

    This one is 34mm and has close to 12g of silver. I may have posted it somewhere on CT before, but I like the look. Picked it up for about $2 US over melt.
