After the signing of the Utrecht treaties which ended the War of the Spanish Succession in 1714, the French continued to be at war with Emperor Karl VI and the Holy Roman Empire until hostilities, ongoing in the Rhineland, were ended with the Treaty of Baden (Switzerland) on 7 Sept. 1714.
