I recently had the ability to purchase the only two graded MS67 examples of the 1908 Austrian corona (a one-year commemorative type).</p><p><br /></p><p>Apart from these two MS67s, I also have of this type a bright white MS66, an MS66 PL, and an MS64 from the Richard Placht Collection (he worked on the design of this coin at the Vienna Mint) which may or may not be an early test strike as it does have a wire rim.</p><p><br /></p><p>As the toning on these MS67 examples is similar, and they were graded together on the same submission, I would assume these coins were kept together for a long time. While this example is very baggy, accounting for the grade, it is also the only example I&#039;ve seen that got the PL designation.
