Excellent strike on the reverse of the 1931 despite the obverse die abrading slightly on the 3, which is typical of the series. In hand the 1933 is clearly the superior of the two with fewer marks on the body of the bull and just a trace more luster as well.
(I edit my images to have the reverse first sorry) This well matched pair just got back to me from PCGS. I picked the two up during the Dublin coin fair back in February. :) Wonderful subtle toning to show full originality on both examples. Excellent strike on the reverse of the 1931 despite the obverse die abrading slightly on the 3, which is typical of the series. In hand the 1933 is clearly the superior of the two with fewer marks on the body of the bull and just a trace more luster as well. Tough coins in MS altogether. 1931 MS64 which replaces my previous AU58 example. 1933 MS64+ which replaces my previous VF35 example. I can only hope to keep the quality consistent across the other years.
