Went to the Texas Coin show today in Grapevine. A lot of tables but not a lot of buyers. Inventory looked the same as the last show. I did spend some time with a dealer I haven't bought from before and he had a nice inventory of World Silver Crowns including some Mexican Revolutionary period coins. I wasn't prepared for that so I'll do some research and catch him next time. He did make me a good deal on some Philippine minor Silver so I pick up a few of those. All of the dealers dealing in Silver Bullion must have purchase several mounts ago. Best I could do was $18-$20. Not real bad but a lot were trying to sell in the $22+ range. I was real disappointed when I took photos of the Canada Owl and discovered fingerprints. I checked this coin closely for milk spots and rejected 2 or 3 and totally missed the prints. Oh well, it's just bullion. A quick dip will fix it. Didn't find any Mint or Proof sets that I was interested in. Almost pulled the trigger on a toned 1967 Canada set. The dealer was really pushing the toning and offered to sell me the set for $38. That's a great price but the toning was too dark, almost black. Not really attractive. The Koala came in the mail today from another source. Nice toning on the 1907 Philippines Peso. I also sent off 3 coins to ANACS. a 1877 Trade Dollar I grade VF/XF, which will probably come back in a detail slab because of a ding on the rim. I just wanted it authenticated as genuine. a 1837 Reeded Edge Half dollar I hope will come back XF and a 1934 Texas

Commemorative Half I am hoping for anything above AU50. Took my wife and my 87 year old Mother with me. My mother says they all the coins look alike to her and everyone is selling the same thing!. She had fun anyway and enjoyed the nice lunch I bought for her. 87, I forgot next Tuesday (Groundhog Day) she will be 88.
