I tried to rent a motorcycle once. They would only rent me a scooter. It had a top speed of maybe 30 mph or 35 going down a steep hill. It would'nt be too bad except I used it to drive extremely long distances. Also I too collected unwanted but "price unlisted" Latin American coins.

I found one that sold in the 1982 Hammel Sale by Stack's. After talking with them that's the only auction appearance we could find until the coin (Peru 1 Escudo, 1850 Lima) was auctioned around 2010 by Heritage. Nobody else wanted it and I'm making an unwanted Peru early (ca 1820 - 1850's) set from 1/8 real to 8 escudos gold, all in mint state. [this coin is only a choice AU, but I amde an exception due to the rarity] I think it's the same coin (the Hammel specimen). Also know of another rare one: it's a Bolivian 4R 1840 or thereabouts in fine or vg grade from the Oruru mint. Ex Whittier, it was listed as "unique". The Bolivar Military Busts are ugly usually even in unc, by the time you get to "vg" they are a more than a match for your coin in terms of ugliness.

I wonder if all who buy very rare, but ugly & cheap, Latam coins also rode scooters at one time or another? You should do a poll. Hope I didn't offend, I don't think your coin is ugly at all tho it doesn't look quite the same as a 1978-s DMCP Ike that most here see as "the ultimate coin".
