Here is what I found:</p><p>A Belgium 1944 2 Francs, I read up on this one and found it is an Allied occupation issue, and these were struck on the blanks for the 1943 U.S. Steel Cent. How cool is that?</p><p><br /></p><p>I also found a nice VF+ 1936 1/12th of an Anna from British India, as well as an AU 1945 S Five Centavos from the U.S. Philippines.</p><p><br /></p><p>But the best find of the day is this one, another very cool coin to find in the &#039;5 for a dollar&#039; bin, an 1890 Kingdom of the Netherlands 2 and 1/2 Cent bronze coin.... and amazingly the details are at least VF IMO, however it has a few rim dings, but every legend and detail is intact and readable and the detail of the crowned lion clutching the bundle of arrows and sword is wonderful! As is the detail of the Caduceus on the right side of the date. It would be quite a nice piece if not for the series of small rim dings. Does anyone know the mintage of this coin.... the mintage of the Netherlands 1890 2 1/2 cent coin?</p><p>... also when I went to pay, the guys at the coin shop gave me the lot for free. I know it is just a dollar... less even, but it sure is nice to have a local coin shop with nice people where you are known and liked.</p><p><br /></p><p>I still think the 1944 Belgian Allied Occupation 2 Francs struck on the US 1943 Steel Cent blank is my favorite of the entire lot, and it is close to Unc. too.
