I picked up this 20 coin "set" for $5 US. The plastic is causing issues and I have started cutting the coins out and giving an acetone rinse. I have been eyeing these for a while and negotiated a very reasonable price on this threesome. Parrots (or maybe parakeets)! These are gold mine company issued currency from Madagascar. 1920 1 Franc and 25 centimes (notgeld) aluminum coins, Société des Mines d'Or de l'Andavakoëra.
I picked up this dog ugly token because it was marked JAPAN on the reverse. The seller didn't mention its size. This paperweight is 46mm diameter, about 6mm thick, and weighs around 3 oz. I'm curious to see if many other strikes bear the hallmark JAPAN on them? Z
