In a lot for about 25 Cents US. 2 sets of pictures overhead and slightly angled to show the luster and color a little better. 16 mm Zinc. Denmark 1 Ore 1961. The color is a little blueish.
Can't beat gold. I got some debased silver today; a so called Gadhaiya Paisa, BI dramma, c. AD800-1300, from the Indo-Sassanian civilization. Fire altar on reverse. These coins were widely used for many centuries. 4.05 grams/17mm D.
Austria 5 Groschen 1957 KM# 2875 19mm Zinc 2.5 gr Who says zinc deteriorates after 65 years? Beautiful color and plenty of luster. Now protected for another 65 years.
Tiny Spanish 1832S JB half-real. Scan doesn't do it justice, beautiful coin with amazing lustre and clean fields.
This coin is the only one of its grade recorded by NGC and there are none higher. Normally I don’t chase grading numbers, but both the grade and the appearance in hand seem unusually nice for a coin from the 1950’s.
Couple new German States coins. Archbishopric of Trier, 1693, 3 Albus Anhalt-Bernburg,1856A, 1/6 Reichstaler
Just beautiful. I had a collection of older Czechoslovakian coins I sold off and the proofs were my favorite. Kind of wish I'd kept them as they are harder to find since so many of the issues had significant numbers melted. Any PF 68 Ultra Cameo from that era, world or U.S. is a treat!
1840 10 Groszy of Nicholas I, minted in Warsaw but technically a Russian coin - during the period in which Poland was partitioned by Prussia, Russia, and Austria. Very low silver content, 0.192 and tough to find uncirculated. I love all the shields on the two-headed eagle. Anyone know what they are?
British India 10 Cash 1808. KM#320. I picked this up in a holder labeled "Sunken Treasure" with a COA that it is from the Admiral Gardner and a recovered coin. Not sure I believe that but not sure how many from this issue other than on that ship there were. Seems to be genuine and weighs 4.5 grams.
