1934 panama un balboa. 225,000 minted. Payed $38 on usacoinbook.com. says AU-50. Thoughts, comments, general feedback welcome.
I agree, and a few dollar premium isn't going to break me. As far as a low mintage coin goes, I like it.
Picked up this 1968 Mexico 25 Pesos for 47 cents above melt; with the nice case. 0.5208 oz. ASW. Level rings and straight snake's tongue.
I haven’t posted anything in the World coins section in months (years?)… but I thought I should share this one with you: @Rheingold
I picked this up recently at a bullion shop that has a bit of numismatic stuff at times. I might have paid a bit much above melt considering the condition, but I don't often treat myself to something like this. Fortunately my wife also likes gold coins! I love how imperfect it is -- re-punched letters, cracks closing the serifs of the C's with little chips inside, all the little stray marks on the dies. The design seems crude even for 1834, it has a human touch. It's also fun to think about how a coin of such significant value picked up so much circulation wear. Lots of interesting transactions I'm sure!
Picked this Y#58.2 Russia 50 Kopecks up for a bit over melt. It was listed by my LCS as 1913 with a catalog value of $20 in Fine. I liked it and after winning it I looked it up and to my surprise this issue with the moneyer's initials of BC is $20, but the same date with backward E and lowercase b initials is $100 in Fine (according to Krause Manual). Has a pretty decent rim ding around 530 on the reverse, but otherwise pretty nice for $10 US. Edit: Numista has some good info on the edge lettering that helped a lot.
Picked up a couple nice bullion pieces today. Took these pics outdoors but in the shade to show detail.
Was happy to find this pair of Botswana pula for very cheap on eBay. I was most excited for the 2016 5 pula, as those aren't yet regularly seen (none are currently available for swap on Numista, for example), but I needed the 2 pula as well.
