Love the 16 Gute Groschen! I have a similar 1828 piece, and it is among my favorite rearing horse designs!

I had some success at this weeks Baldwins at St James auction. Picked up 4 medals for my world medal collection.

    BHM-1468.jpg
Commemorative Medals, Old Testament, Elijah fed by ravens at the brook Cherith, copper medal, c.1830, from Sir Edward Thomason’s series of sixty ‘Medallic Illustrations of the Holy Scriptures’,

Obverse: two ravens swoop on Elijah with food, after the painting by Paolo Veronese
    Reverse: legend in 29 lines

    Diameter: 73.5mm.

(BHM.1468, no. 43), extremely fine and very rare in copper
Brown (BHM) lists the medals from the series in silver and, as are most commonly found, white metal. Examples in copper must be very rare

    GB Bath 1961.jpg
King Edward’s School, Bath, bronze shooting medal, 1961

    Diameter: 38.5mm

    GB 1897 01.jpg
    unofficial bronzed Jubilee medal, 1897

    Diameter: 38.5mm

    Waterloo 11.jpg

The Battle of Waterloo, 175th Anniversary, 1990,
the Royal Mint’s reduced size silver reproduction of Pistrucci’s famous medal

    Diameter: 63.5mm.
    Weight: 153.18gms.
    Composition: Silver

I have several versions of the last one. I can't seem to not buy them when I see them.

The last 3 were from 1 lot. The shooting medal doesn't do anything for me so it will probably be moving on in the near future.

I've spent some time in Munich and Bavaria, so this one has a personal connection for me.
