I paid $15 each and they are all graded by NGC as between PF65 and PF69. I purchased them as a "curiosity" not because of numismatic value. They obviously never circulated, and they are by no means "rare". Thanks for the kind words. Next time you post a coin, I'll interject with an equally positive and useful comment.
Horse head on Mali coin The horse head is also on this modern coin of Mali. I don't plan any future travel to Timbuktu or any place in Mali.
Because of this post I bought an example lastnight, 1862 but still:hail: So thanks for sharing. nice horsehead C89.
Got these today from ModernCoinMart...awesome coins the 1oz and 1/2 oz...horrible company to deal with...
Last nights pick-ups 1920 Shih Kai MS61 Wa She Wong Collection and China Cash I liked the cartwheel effect on the edge of grain wreath and at MS61 a decent grade for issue. The China 10 Cash 1920 Y-303 is graded NGC MS63 Red and Brown. Cash coins have become more popular recetly but the Chinese coin market has taken a big hit for sellers.
That is a brown bear (ursus arctos) according to the catalog I have. On the other side you see polytrichum piliferum, some kind of moss. Christian
I know, shocking, two modern coins instead of ancients. I collect them all A panama pill and a victoria sillver three half pence. Both ebay photos.
Mat, just wondering -- what do you consider the "modern" coin cut-off? Anything that is milled coinage? Is hammered coinage of the middle ages "modern" also?
