CNG has been selling some of the scarcer mint marks. I have picked up a few pieces from them recently, including this one, but others went for astronomical prices.

I've noticed the higher prices on some. I just want a really nice looking one as a type piece.

I'd really like to get one in unc. There was an 1802, 1805 and 1807 I was bidding on but they went for quite a bit.

I suspect it has been cleaned in some way too...it is made of iron, as you know, so some oxidation should have occurred during the past century.

I've always wanted one of these crusader types and was happy to finally score one. It came in an old paper envelope with info as Bohemond IV. So I will assume that is who it is.

Not sure what is going on to the left of the bust on this 12 Skilling...maybe a rusted die??? It is raised metal so not PMD.

To me it kind of has the look of a sea salvage coin.

Recent bulk buy from my fav LCS and I'm very happy.

For $45 I got the following silvers, plus a big pile of about 50 base metal coins (quicky photos are tough, but you get the picture).

I found this piece when looking for some swiss crowns and liked the history of it so I threw out an offer and it was accepted. Even though Switzerland stayed neutral during WW2, they put out a bond to raise money for an armament fund and issued these coins to raise money for the fund. They could forsee the problems coming from Nazi Germany and raised funds in advance to try to arm and protect themselves. The design shows that as well- hoping for peace but preparing for war.
