Nice!. I'm not typically drawn to coins like that but would have picked that one up right away. I have an Ebay seller on my "favorite sellers" list from Miami that has been a good source on hard to find Cuban coins. I just checked his sold listings and he had a multi-colored duck peso that I missed out on.
Vietnam, Minh Mang 60 Văn Picked this up recently. Probably just a good forgery. The characters on the reverse read Chí công chí chính vô đảng vô thiên which translates to Impartiality and rectitude at their utmost, impartiality without favouritism. It is a large coin at about 50mm, 27g.
I wonder how he gets away with it. You can usually sell Cuban coins for awhile but they always catch up to you eventually. I've gotten several cease and desist messages myself.
1889 Sydney Mint Half Sovereign. The key date for the series. Yeah it's a details grade but you just don't ever see these.
A medal (ca 1889) announcing a name change of Ralph Heatons & Sons to the Birmingham Mint. Ralph Heaton had gotten started using presses purchased from the estate of Matthew Boulton.
Very interesting. Got me curious so I found some history of the Heaton Mint. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birmingham_Mint
all great coins, but I really liked the bottom 1 best. I got to see 1 graded AU PCGS at my last coin show at the Palace Station in Las Vegas. It took my breath away and so did the price $3,500. Worth every dollar in my opinion.
Found 2 interesting ones today Didn’t know anything about this one but it’s a quarter sized piedfort 1/2 Oz I think I have 3 others but couldn’t leave it behind at $12
