A lot of things showed up this week but I didn't open any of them until after work yesterday. Here are a couple.
Just got this piece to feed my wildman addiction although I need to do some research. The photos and description are from the seller. It is obviously a modern piece, it is marked R1977 on the obverse. I can't find anything on it in the normal references. Some new pickups: Hungary Iron 2 Fillér ND (1916-1918) KM-497 Double Struck Off-Center These are seller photos as this is a recent pickup. It appears there is something going on on the rim from 1 to 3 o'clock on the obverse and 9 to 11 o'clock on the reverse. Perhaps the remnants of a third strike (though not third sequentially)? I'll have to see it in hand. Hungary AU 4 Forint 1870KB Proof Restrike Reverse Lamination Error KM-454 (1870-1880) Artex 1966 UP Restrike RRR! Mintage of 20 pieces This is an obscure Artex restrike produced in 1966 of the Hungarian 1870KB 4 Forint. This was the first restrike made for this coin, and only an astoundingly low 20 pieces were produced. Another 250 pieces were struck the following year, however, the restrike mark on those was changed from the UP to a rosette. My collection of 1965-1967 Artex restrikes is quite extensive, and this is the first restrike I've seen with an error (reverse lamination). Also, not surprisingly, it's the first example I've seen of this RRR UP type (I already had one of the more common RR rosette restrikes). Austria 1908 AR 5 Corona 60 Years of Reign Commemorative KM-2809 NGC MS63 Hungary 1567KB Miksa AR Denár (1564-1576) Hungary 1571KB Miksa AR Denár (1564-1576) Hungary 1574KB Miksa AR Denár (1564-1576) Hungary 1581KB Rudolf AR Denár (1579-1602)
Couple of cool pieces that came in a mixed world lot I just acquired. The date on the Honduras coin is quite bizarre in it's high relief given the rest of the wear.
A bunch of Western Satraps drachms arrived this week. This one was labeled as King Bhartrdaman. Looks a bit like Zonker to me.
Looks kind of like a Gupta Dynasty coin to me... https://www.google.co.th/search?q=g...eAhUIMI8KHbRXAssQsAR6BAgCEAE&biw=1366&bih=626
