Rescued all these from the melt bucket today (I have done my duty as a collector today, truly I have)

Best two pieces of the group (can't believe they would have melted these):

Wish I could find a melt bucket like yours!

I wish they'd actually call me (I've left my number multiple times at multiple shops) before they melt coins like these. I shudder to think of all the gorgeous coins they've basically thrown away.

I have nothing like what you come across nearby. I've checked out your site several times and almost bought a bunch once but got gunshy haha. Totally kicking myself for it now. You have some beautiful coins and take amazing pictures. Looking forward to seeing what you find.

Well, first of all, thank you for the kind words. I do my best.

I'm just continually amazed at the coins that are repeatedly ignored by people who are supposed to know coins. I guess if you were wealthy enough, an UNC 1920 sixpence (the sterling variety, which makes it more valuable) or an AU 1904 S 20 Centavos might not even register for you. The other ones, I suppose I could see...but there's a Denmark 1904 25 Ore in there (a very nice coin)...some nice looking 1800's Mexico 10 Centavos with super low mintages...an 1898 20 Centavos...I believe the one year type Mexico 1919 20 Centavos is a good coin as well...1700's silver coins...I mean, come on.

I'll refrain from addressing the commercial aspect of your post (hopefully this follows the rules) except to say you're always welcome to PM me here and ask for the CoinTalk Friends discount haha...

I feel like once you know world coins, it's really obvious what the good ones are. You look at enough of them and you get a good idea of what's common and what you don't see very often. What I think is kind of funny is the main coin shop that I visit, they have the 25 cent bin, then they have some bins of increasing value where they put the coins they think are better, but it's obvious that they have no idea. I find great coins in the 25 cent bin, and in the dollar bin I see plenty of stuff I'd hesitate to take for free.

I only visit every few months though, so as I'm cleaning out their 25 cent bin I can't help but think numerous other people have had the opportunity to look through here since I was here last and yet they left all this behind.

    I always use the example:

I don't know all the key dates of the Buffalo Nickel series (honestly) - but I do know that generally, teens with mintmarks = good thing.

Yeah, once you've seen thousands (millions, maybe?) of coins you do start to get a more finely tuned intuition...I'm about to see if mine was right about a Norwegian copper I picked up today.

Yep. That's how I do it too...especially if the individual coin(s) are objectively cheap.

I don't have a great consistent honey hole like yours, but I have a LCS that is happy to pass it along to me for a good price, but his replenish rate is high. The nice part is that it's close enough for me to drive there during lunch.

I need to take sometime to photo more of my recent purchases.

I love the treasure hunt with world coins.

There are just so many world coins one can fall in love with. Really hard to limit one's self, if you get my drift...

Bought these this week from one of my LCSs:

These for about 10% less than silver value, except for the SA 50 cent, which was $10.

These for 50 cents each, which was a good buy after looking at completed sales on Ebay.
