Couple of ancient India coins just arrived, seller's pix. Silver one is labeled as 225-650 Sasanian-Gadhaya Dynasty. Copper is 1715-1835 French India catch.
OK - on that definition SA still makes First World. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_World which even includes a map that shows SA in the First World. By this definition many unlikely countries count as Third World - including Switzerland, Ireland and Sweden. I was taking it more of the recent usage of the term "Third World" for the under-developed and poorer nations of the world, and again I would say that does not apply to SA.
You can always fall back to a definition to describe a person ,place or thing....however to me definitions are just that a way to describe..... there are places here in the U.S. as well other ...so called first world countries....where living standards are below the so called third world definition. If living and housing conditions are below or equal to that of a third world country ,then pretty much you're living in a third world life style. Try explaining to a hungry or homeless person how lucky they are to live in a first world country. So maybe we should consider changing the terms of first , second, and third world to the "haves and the have nots?"
Here is a 1892 2 1/2 shilling. I have nearly all the ZAR coins except for the gold ponds. Still seeking a 93 penny and a 92 5 shilling. Mintage on this one was 16,300.
Awesome! All these ZAR coins skyrocket in price once you hit XF. The survival rate of coins that would straight-grade is small, along all denominations.

This came the other day, one of a lot of 50 mostly NL coins. The seller tells me it is a fake, however I am not sure if it is a new or old fake, "contemporary counterfeit", or possibly even genuine? Weight is exactly 25 grams, words around the edge are correct. The "ring" when dropped in a nutating fashion on the table top does sound odd though.
Vietnam 4 Tien, 1848-83. Obverse inscription Tu duc Thong Bao , reverse inscription Su Dan Phu Tho. Cleaned.
Two more coins arrived today from India. Another Indo-Sasanian silver coin and a French India 'catch'.
