Very nice crowns @PaddyB. Now a Tertio would be something but they are VERY elusive and pricey in any decent grade. I picked up quite a nice Secundo couple of months ago but would love to bag a Tertio Great Britain 1821 Secundo edge Crown MS62...….can't remember if I've posted this one before
@1934 Wreath Crown my goodness what a beautiful 1821! I should get one to start off my crown collection!! Thai contribution of the day! 1868 Thailand 1/16 fuang Tin. About a half dollar in size. So many are damaged, corroded, etc. One of my favorite pieces, just love the elephant obverse. Thailand 1868 1/16 fuang by Mkman123 posted May 30, 2018 at 8:00 AM
It was this post that kicked me back into action recording my Crown colection, so here is my 1845 for comparison:
That's a lovely example @PaddyB ….much better than the example in the earlier post that kicked you into action
Some new pickups from the last week: Germany (Augsburg) - 1920 Notgeld 50 Pfennig Great Britain - 1935 3 Pence (Note: original dealer had this marked as a proof on the flip. I don't think it's a proof. It is nice, though.) Switzerland - 1902 B 2 Rappen
And these. Can anyone identify the 1972 coin with the oil rig or whatever it is? Also, I think the MacArthur coin is really well done. Two iconic images of him.
Actually I only started in 2002, but I am one of those people who puts a huge amount of focus on achieving my collecting goals - probably far too much! When I started collecting I also started trading and I have paid for the collection by trading up consistently. A simple rule applies - if I have a good coin in my possession and it is better than the one in my collection, then I keep it and the old one gets the chop! Some of the best have come from buying whole collections from people getting out of collecting - or their descendants... P
@PaddyB Great Crowns. Do you have any from William III or Anne?? I try to bid on those but the nicer ones always exceed what I'm willing to pay
