Beware of fakes! Another type of bonk looks like this picture, and very good looking fakes are made in China. I just found the picture on the internet, and assume it is not a fake. Bonk bar.jpg

these pics are from my friends phone...
German States/Frankfurt 1862 thaler, .900 silver, mintage-44,000, KM#371, AU grade, subject:German shooting festival. I talked him down to $100.00 from $125.00. The funny part is I would have paid $125 so it never hurts to ask for a discount. I really like that eagle. so detailed. amazing...

@spirityoda Yep, had to get a slabbed one as I do not want a fake at all!

Spirityoda I wish the price was that low! Details grade ones are getting around that price. Straight grade much higher. Prices for thai coins have gone up lately, at stacksbower, heritage, etc I've lost each time and the coins went many times above the estimate.

Heck, I live in Thailand and very seldom see any coins older that about 1960. The one dealer I met seems to want to mainly sell UNC commemoratives and medals. The very few older coins are mostly priced rather high, in my estimation.
