I've got one of those Turks and Caicos crowns in the original packaging and book which unfortunately, tends to come apart. Really attractive coin though....love it.
It came in the original "booklet". Yes, kind of flimsy. Has plastic slides, sort of like a Dansco page, so the coin can be removed. I suspect the paper has a high Sulphur content. As soon as I can get a 45mm Airtite, I'll permanently remove it from the mint booklet.
Hadn't bought any coins for months now...at least the physical type. Couldn't let this one pass even though I had to pay a bit over what I expected... but given there is only one higher in PCGS...
I picked up some Thai commemorative coins yesterday, mostly 10 baht denomination. They are about as exciting to me as are the multitude of US quarters minted in the past 20 years. This one is a bit different, called a "circulating commemorative coin", it is rather large at 32 mm. The dealer was also selling some pod duang money and also the long, bar kind, "lat" or tiger tongue. I was disappointed that the sellers were more like snake oil salesmen or amulet hawkers than real coin people.
Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach 2 Mark 1898A (Circulating Strike) PCGS MS65 Another German States (1871-1918) coin that I bought last year and hadn't posted here. All of the coins prior to 1900 are very hard to find in high grades, specially these low mintage circulating strikes. In PCGS there is another 65 and only one above (65+). Charles Alexander (Karl Alexander August Johann; 24 June 1818 – 5 January 1901) was the ruler of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach as its grand duke from 1853 until his death.
Posted these in the exonumia thread earlier. In the past few days I picked up these two. First one is an undated medal commemorating the new province of Bueng Kan in 2011. The big silver colored one is a medal in commemoration of the Royal Cremation Ceremony of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 2017. Diameter 32 mm, weight 15 gm, metal cupro nickel, mintage 39,999,999.
Just adding to your porcelain piece. This one I believe was made by the same company. 5 g and 55.6mm I bought this one for my Mom, Mothers day. These porcelain pieces are really neat.
Picked all this up for $3. And a very nice 1861 penny for 25 cents. Trying to figure out which variety it is, can anyone help?
I am no expert but I would say it is Freeman Obverse 6, Reverse G making it F33 - one of the common ones unfortunately! Nice coin though.
That's a nice Standing Liberty quarter. I hope you got it for a good price. That's probably a $30-40 USD coin.
Yes - I think I got it at a very good price, though it was part of quite a large lot of World coins. It is not for my collection so it is now on Ebay along with some of the others, including the IHC and half dime.
