    That Florin is one I'd have graded. It's a fairly commonly faked one. But an awesome fine, I am truly jealous.

    It looks okay, has a beveled rim on the reverse - I haven't seen that on any fakes before and most real ones have it.

    I would say, tread cautiously. Try plain water first? You know as well as I do how the word "cleaning" is anathema to most of the folks here on CT. Real neat looking coin, silver is it? Yes, I see that now. I buy a lot of coins from the Netherlands. The past week or so, one of my favorite sellers from Utrecht was here on holiday and we got together a few times.

    Thanks for the feedback coin-nut, I will try water then. Just soak and dab type rinsing. That's an amazing collection of VOC Duit's you have!
