Finally got around to photo'ing this one. It's my favorite from a group lot. French 5 Centimes 1913 Liberty obv. Republic protecting her child rev.
Here's a couple new coins for my Hungarian type set (1848-1956). The majority of my obtainable holes in this set are during the Austrian Occupation period (1849-1867) so I've been working on those a bit. During this period, Hungarian mints struck Austrian types using the Austrian mint mark system (Hungarian mint KB used the B mint mark, mint GYF used the E mint mark, and mint NB used the G mint mark). Mintages from these mints for these types were very low compared to Vienna, so most are still relatively difficult to find (or to find in mint state. Austria 1/4 Florin 1858E (Hungarian Mint GYF) NGC MS64 KM-2213 (1857-1858) Silver 0.520, 5.35g, 24mm Mintage: 1,978,874 This is a tough two-year type, and is an upgrade to my 1858B MS62. Austria 1 Florin 1859E (Hungarian Mint GYF) NGC MS61 KM-2219 (1857-1865) Silver 0.900, 12.34g, 29mm x 2mm Mintage: 803,016 This is an upgrade to my 1859B AU58, and is also a much tougher date.
Working on a digital album at this time. Cover is done so far. Doing as a "type set" not a date run. I wasn't aware of a hard copy. I'll look at it. Thanks

Fresh out of the NGC box graded and conserved. I wasn't sure where to post these even though I bought them as bullion the cost of these 1/2 ounce coins go for a healthy mark up. The 1991 had a small carbon spot and typical haze around the temple but NCS did a good job.
Bought for $10 today at the local monthly flea market with a bunch of other base metal common world coins and 'worthless' tokens:
1939 Ireland Florin Proof I am super excited to add this one to my collection. In 1939, Ireland debuted a revised obverse design for its coinage. Proof examples of all denominations except the penny were struck for inclusion in "VIP" sets that year. The number of sets minted is unknown, but is believed to be between 15 and 20. Most of these coins ended up in official and state collections, so the number of coins in private collections is small. This particular coin, graded PR-65 by PCGS, is one of just 6 examples graded by PCGS/NGC. Shown above is the PCGS TrueView image. I jumped at the chance to bid on this coin at a recent Stack's Bowers internet auction, as these 1939 proof coins so rarely come up for sale.
An incredible score of a once-in-a-lifetime coin, if the mintage you quoted (15~20) is right... This is what makes coins the thing for me. Good for you, sir. And thanks for sharing this one with all of us!
I have a small World Coin collection... this was a complete and utter impulse buy in an auction last night as I had some extra bucks in my PayPal after paying fees. Seller photos. I don't know a single thing about this coin, except that I like it!
