Went to my LCS today to see if they had anything new. Didn't really find anything on my list, but my wife found this in the "Junk" bin. Cost .50 The blue shows up on photos, but in hand the obverse is just as clear as the reverse. It is Stunning in hand.
I ran into a bunch of these 2 Heller's....most in the VF/XF condition that I find to be very eye pleasing coins ,butt cheap as well...a nice piece of Bronze that pleases the eye and doesn't hurt your wallet , are plentiful, and well struck for details. Some Woodies found, tone nicely.
These arrived in my mailbox today. A couple more from the @lordmarcovan collection. The coin above I ordered and was expecting, but this next one was a surprise bonus. Our first coin from Monaco...and what a beauty it is.
Just started looking at Mexican Coins the last couple of months and bought a few rolls of these. I know they're bullion but it's a start. Seems like the 2017 Libertad items are very popular.
such an amazing restrike. I am dying to know more about it. I also looked it up in my Krause and found nothing. are you sure it was for the right denomination ? for the right date ?
This Wikipedia page shows what could be an original. And it has a catalog reference: "Standard Catalog of World Gold Coins 1601–Present (6th ed.), Krause, p. 314" ... Christian
I picked up this 1/2 dinero from Peru, It's a re punched date 1903/893. The toning and price made it worth it.
Not strictly an acquisition but an item passed to me for identification: An English coin weight by Kirk for measuring the Portuguese Half Escudo coins of Johannes V (1702 to 1750) along with the value in English money to be given for them. Weighs just under 1.8g and measures approx 17mm in diameter.
