A "Luigino" from 1666. County of Tassarolo. These coins were modeled after a French 5 sous piece, which is why they have fleurs-de-lis even though they are Italian. 2 grams, 21 mm.
A couple of new addition to the South Korea Type set. The 5 Won is an upgrade. I would love to find a BU, but this one is nice. Hard to find in unc. The 100 Won is a commemorative, one year issue. 1st Anniversary of the 5th Republic. South Korea 1966 5 Won South Korea 1981 100 Won
My latest is the Mombasa 1/2 Rupee. I now only need the 1/4 for the set however I would like an EF-UNC Rupee to make the Set all high grade. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was happy to get this neat 1 penny token from Tasmania. 1800s Australian tokens are really neat to me. Also picked up this Ukrainian coin commemorating Chernobyl from the same seller for a good price.
Ireland 1968 Florin Mintage: 1,000,0000 Last year for this design. Ireland moved to the decimal format in 1969. Purchased raw on eBay, images are my own.
I 'needed' this like I need a hole in the head. Or, is that hole in the pocket. A duplicate...but man what a pretty one (and underbid at it's auction, I had a low bid in expecting not to win...yet here it is at my house after all).
I know how you feel. Someone posted one of these the other day, and I had to have one. Of course I probably didn't spend near as much as you did.
Went to a show this past weekend and didn't spend much because the nicer coins were priced too high, as in 50%-200% too high. Couldn't leave empty handed though so here are some random pieces I picked up.
My wife and I went to the Grapevine TX Coin show Saturday. It was the busiest I have ever seen it. It was packed. I had to drop her off and park in the North Forty. All the table were full and bumping into buyer everywhere. A lot of World Silver on display but nothing I saw nothing that I liked that didn't appear to be over priced. I tried to find some coins from South Korea to upgrade a few coins and perhaps something new. I was able to upgrade the 1967 1 Won and I was able to find a 1981 20,000 Won, which I wanted. It's not the best example, seems to have some type of hazing, but it was the first time I have seen one. Hard to find. I went ahead and bought it, but plan to upgrade as soon as I find a better example.Very few dealers has coins from South Korea and the ones that did only had a few. South Korea 1967 1 Won Mintage 48,500,000 South Korea 1981 20,000 Won Mintage 80,000 This is the only Silver coin in the 5th Republic series. Large 35 mm with 0.6519 ASW
