Same here. I looked at a lot and bid on a lot. Often they were only available buy it now instead of auction so the prices tended to be high.
I just looked at a map on Bing. Liechtenstein is in Austria, I had to know where it was geographically lol
No. It is a separate country on the border of Austria and Switzerland. It used to use Austria coins but around 100 years ago briefly issued a few coins of its own before switching to using Swiss coins, which it still does.
I got a few cool new coins today. This one is an 1838 2 reales minted in Guanajuato, Mexico. It's overall a very nice looking coin and I love the expression on the eagle. This eagle design was only used in Guanajuato, which later reverted to the usual one. I really like the type of reeding as well: This one is a 1922 2000 réis from Brazil, commemorating the centennial of Brazil's independence from Portugal. On the left of the obverse is Dom Pedro I, the first emperor of Brazil, and on the right is Epitácio Pessoa, the President of Brazil from 1919 until 1922. On the left of the reverse is the coat of arms of the Empire of Brazil, and on the right is that of the Republic of Brazil:
I also got this 2017 Latvia 5 euros. It's just a silly coin for my bears collection. It is about a Latvian folk tale about animals who hide in a lost mitten for shelter. I never buy colored coins, but the color on this mitten is barely noticeable so I decided to go for it.
My fledgling Victoria collection has accepted a new member into its flock. Do three make a flock yet though?
Picked up a new french coin for my side collection. A Charles X. $18 total! My images, too lazy to make a black background.
Right, Liechtenstein used the Austrian Krone/Corona until 1919; in 1920 they picked the Swiss Franc instead. For example, the 5 Kr coin that @Hiddendragon showed in post #8957 was later issued as a 5 Fr coin with the same design. Liechtenstein still issues coins, but only collector coins that commemorate certain events. Precisely eight issues in the past fifty years - and that includes two that are dated 1961 but did not come until 1986. The latest ones are from 2006 ... Christian
Sultanate Of Lahej, Aden Protectorate 1/2 Baiza Fadl ibn Ali, 1874 This is a bit of an upgrade purchase of the same coin I posted within the last week or so. This one only became available after I purchased that one.
2 new coins for my "Coins with Hands" coin collection. San Marino...seller pics... 2001 50 Lire 2001 100 Lire I find the hands/tree 1 interesting.
That reminds me I need to find one of those for my oldest son who loves everything trains. Plus, it's a nice big chunk of silver.
