This might be my last acquisition for a while. The back pain from an injury in April of last year has reached the point I am unable/unwilling to continue working. I planned to retire in October, but gave an anticipated date of retirement for 6/10/17. Yesterday the pain was so intense that my Doctor put me off work for 2 weeks. Plan is to go on STD during that time and then LTD if conditions warrant. I'll retire when that is exhausted. No more source of "hobby money" when I retire. If I want to add to collection, I will have to use funds from selling off current collections. Anyone out there want to write me a big check?;)

Anyway, this arrived last night from Moscow. Took so long to get here, I forgot I bought it. For the German Eagle collection

Here's a new upgrade for my Hungarian type set:

    Hungary 20 Krajczár 1848KB (KM-432, Adamo B5)
    War of Independence Issue
    NGC MS63

    AR 0.583, 6.9g, 26mm x 1.4mm

    20kr.jpg

This is a one-year revolutionary type from the War of Independence (1848-1849). Though a one-year type with unknown mintage, it's a relatively common issue often found with a PL reverse. Adjustment marks are also common, as can be seen on the reverse of this example.

A number of new cheap items today to add to the accumulation. This one is like a hockey puck. Over 40MM and 55g+.

Could kill someone with it. :woot:

My wife and I went to the TNA Show in Arlington, TX. this morning. Not as big a crowd as I expected with 200 tables advertised. I paid for membership in the TNA for $20 and was given free admission and a free copy of the 2018 Red Book. I came out ahead on that deal. I made contact with a dealer from Albuquerque, NM who specialized in coins from Mexico. He had one of the nicest selections I have seen at any show. We exchanged phone numbers and email address so I could send him a list of what I wanted to buy and what I had to sell. Best collection I ran across was a completed set of 1894 German New Guinea coins, including Gold. This is the one with the Bird of Paradise. He had put the set together himself and was only asking $7,000. I was tempting to offer him my pink slip but didn't want to walk home in the rain. Anyway I saw a lot of coins I wished I could have but not many that I "wanted" to have. A fun 2 hours walking and looking but my back gave out before I could see everything. I ender up buying a few Sacs to update my series and only found one Silver bullion coin that I wanted. Oh yeah, one of the dealers had a complete set of the 2014 Silver proof Britannias in PR69 for only $1000. Best deal I saw, but I couldn't convince him to sell me the 1 ounce and break up the set. I offered him $300 for it, but I think he thought I was just kidding. I wasn't.

Bullion coin with usual milk spots. I looked at 5 or 6 and this was the best of the lot.

I got this one brought to my door today. Purchased from Heritage Europe/MPO auctions. Easy as if it were from Heritage/Texas :D.

The tag came with the coin so I added it to my picture.

It's about 18x20 mm. By far the biggest one of my tiny collection.

    Probably fake. :arghh:

Hard to find any good sites to do research.

another 5 francs came in today. this one is so much nicer than the coin I got yesterday. I'm experimenting with picmonkey. I really like the glowing green border.

Switzerland (Zurich): silver "city view" 1/2-thaler (1 gulden/36 schillings), 1739.

I've been a busy bee, on a bit of a spree...

(And I'm a poet and didn't know it.)

Expanding my "Box of 20" to a "Box of 25".

(I've been using a 25-slot slab box for the last year or so anyway.)

I always joked that one could use those for slingshot ammo, with devastating effects.
