I just added this 1/8 ahmadi riyal from Yemen, dated AH 1374 (=AD 1954/5). I don't know of any other pentagonal coin types.

Notice the brick like design on the eagle. My guess it represents the brick wall the bear is climbing on, shown on the early German coins.

This 2012 Latvia 1 lats celebrates the anniversary of the Riga Zoo.

 

That is one of the neatest coins ever. I looked at buying several times.

 

Yeah, I really like the design. It's one of my favorites.

Yesterday I bought a very nice looking coin from an especially interesting part of Mexican history, when Maximilian I was installed by France to rule Mexico. His rule was short, from 1864-1867, and this coin was only produced in 1866 and 1867.

Thank you, I think so too! I had been wanting one and they're hard to come by in the States, so I'm glad I got one. Something cool was that earlier yesterday, I went to the Castillo de Chapultepec, which is where he lived during his short reign.

A fun coin I got for my wife who collects Koalas and teddy bears. Says she going to carry this one in her purse for good luck. I'm the lucky one for finding it. @Hiddendragon have you got this one?

No, I don't have that one, but I do have this, which I also bought for my wife. At least that's what I told her. But since she doesn't collect coins she said I could "hold onto" it for her.
