Just got this 1908-P Half Sov slabbed UNC Details - planchet flaw, I figured they wouldn't grade it because of the flan flaw but it's such a rare coin that in 21 years of collecting half sovereigns, this is the only mint state piece I've ever encountered.
Slovenia 1991 0.10 Lipe BEE. an upgrade to the 1 I have already have. not in my 2016 Krause catalog, but in my 2002 Krause catalog. mintage 5,000 metal-brass, these are very scarce. sellers pics... for the "coins with insects" collection. I have the 20 Lipe Bee coin but no pictures. mintage also only 5,000. time to buy these is when you see them on Ebay because these never come up. pounced on it when it came up. lol
Just got this one the other day. Brazil 20 Reis(ca.1818)-struck on a brazil 20 Reis 1753. Its a really big heavy coin. Too bad they didn't strike the reverse at the same time, instead of flattening out the reverse. Having fun collecting here...
That would actually be a 40 Reis, KM# 280.1 ND(1809). By counter-striking the 1753 20 Reis they increased the value. Most counter-struck coins will show flattening on the opposite side.
Stopped by the Grapevine coin show this morning. Small crowd today. Picked up a couple of coins for the Pre-62 Cuba and U.S. Philippines type sets. Also got a bargain on a 1/10th oz. AGE for my son's upcoming birthday. 1961 Cuba 1 Centavo, CN, Mintage 100,000,000 1935 Philippines 10 Centavos, 0.7500 Silver, Mintage 1,280,000
Great day at the coin show today, I found a lot of treasures in the random world coin boxes. But my favorite buy from today has to be this beautiful Italian coin I didn't know existed until I saw it It's a one year only design and I love it! Another seller had a nice set of AU-BU Italian coins from the 20's in their junk box. Also I had to rescue these proofs from another one And then a group of random coins I picked up through the day. I found a lot of really nice coins and I am super happy with today.
