Just got this one from Shane (Kryptonitecomics). It is a really nicely toned RCMP Commemorative. I think it is probably market acceptable.

A few more German silver commemoratives including an East German 10 Mark commemorative. Not silver, but still thought it was interesting.
Ah, I have those too. The GDR had a somewhat strange concept when it came to "special" issues - almost all 5M coins were CuNi, while with the 10M and 20M it depended. The Buchenwald coin for example was made for domestic collectors too, with a total mintage of about 15 million, "surviving" mintage ~3.5 million. The 10M Heinrich Heine coin issued in the same year, however, was silver and had a mintage of about 100,000/55,000. Those coins were mostly exported ... The eagle on the Federal Republic's Constitution Anniversary coin from 1974, by the way, was - unlike most other "coin eagles" - not really designed by the coin designer. This one is basically a small 2D version of the federal eagle (originally designed by Ludwig Gies) that is used by the Bundestag. Christian
Today I went to the Central States show. I wasn't planning to go but it was a rainy day and I live nearby so I figured might as well check it out. Probably 99 percent of the dealers are just showing slabbed U.S. coins, but there were a few who made my trip worth it. At one dealer I bought 12 Canadian and Newfoundland silver 5 and 10 cent coins that I needed for $3 each, and also a bunch of German Empire and other older coins from their 25 cent box. Then I got the following 9 coins for $15, which I think was a great deal. Some of them might not have high book value but they are the types that tend to sell for more to a knowledgeable consumer. Unfortunately since I hadn't been planning to go I didn't have much cash and I actually ran out, so I couldn't buy a lot. Here's the first five.
And the other four. The Sao Tome & Princip is my favorite. The Portuguese 50 centavos is a great coin too.
