This is one I've wanted for awhile. It's a key date in the Mexican 50 centavos series. I only need one now to complete my set. The only thing that annoyed me about this transaction was it arrived in a package on which the label said "1908 Mexico 50 centavos - buyer to grade." Now why would you put that there?
Arrived last night. The cap on the Cuba collection. See my Cuba thread for the others. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/cuba-pre-1962.277311/
This is my first ever purchase from the Heritage site and I am very satisfied. I've wanted a Romanov ruble for a long time and was fortunate to find an example with toning that I like, which more than makes up for the lower number on the holder. The reverse looks almost prooflike in hand, reminding me of the surfaces I've seen on other late Czarist issues. BTW the curvy line to the left of Nicholas' ear seems a bit unusual. It looks to be toning when I look at it under magnification, I can't see any metal movement, perhaps it was stored with a piece of string?
@panzerman . Australia 1918-S gold sovereign in BU. KM#29 mintage-1,835,000 , .917 gold , 7.99g. George V, St. George on horseback slaying the dragon. I traded a few coins and paid the difference. total = $450.00 I always wanted 1 of these... that white stuff on the reverse is on the airtite.
I got my photographer back. better pics in focus... Chile 1853 centavo KM#127 , mintage-2,667,000 , metal-copper , for the "coins with stars" collection... looks like some die cracks at 4 and 6 and 9 O'clock...
Just picked this one up from one of my favorite dealers in Europe - gotta love the globalization of sales, right? 1821 Alexander the 1st Kopek, EM-HM variety (KM 117.3). I'm thinking XF-AU... thoughts? Seller's pics (she takes wonderful pictures).
Believe the mintage on 1918 Sydney sovereign is 3,716,000; regardless, Congrats!! Always loved the Sovereign gold coins.
Picked these out of the LCS world bin. I've not seen them before and I thought they were kinda cool. 1926 Denmark 1 Krone. 1938 Iraq 10 Fils.
Picked these 5 up for a smidge under melt the other day, before silver went up They just came in the mail. 1951 and 1952 Mexico 5 Pesos 1957 Mexico 5 Pesos 1978 Mexico 100 Pesos x2
Depending on striking weakness I could see it going AU. Regardless I like the nice chocolate brown color!
I still have a 1999 Czech proof set that I bought at a coin shop in Prague. It was probably the most interesting coin shop I've even been in, with a huge selection of medieval and modern coins from all over Europe.
Got these in the mail today. The seller had them listed by country and date and had really blurry pictures. The only thing that caught my interest was that the Canada 25c was 1944. He also said that the Philippines coin was 1940. I did some quick checks on size between the coins and guessed that the Philippines coin was a 1944 or 1945 50 centavos and not 1940 like said. I was happy to be right. I paid $2.50 for these 5 coins:
