I agree. It feels really good to find that one coin (or coins) for a good deal.

Just had a large purchase delivered a little while ago. Have not had time to examine all the coins in detail but they do look great. This rare 1847/8 Overdate was part of the recent delivery :)

Here's a new pickup for my Austro-Hungarian corona/korona date set.

    Austria 1 Corona 1914 KM2804
    NGC MS65

This is a nice golden gem example of a common date. I already had a 1914 as a blazing white 66, but I couldn't resist the slab. NGC 4th gen from around '90-'92. First version to have a hologram and the last not to have a barcode.

These world silvers were purchase today in a small bulk lot of world coins (about 70 coins). Paid ~$0.15 each:

This is a big pickup for my Mexican collection. It's the smaller 1915 1 centavo Zapata issue coin. These are pretty hard to find. 1915 mexico 1 centavo small.jpg

amazing coin. does Gold Coast Ackey mean Great Britain ? or some where else ? Africa ? what country is the coin from ?

    Nah mate,

Gold Coast became Ghana. When it was just a small outpost, the gold rich (hence the name) area before we arrived was using shells and gold dust for trade and an Ackee was a unit of weight hence the name of the currency. It's about the size of a halfcrown at 33m I love it. Pride of place now it's knocked a few down the pecking order !

is it in the Krause catalog ? I want to look it up. :bookworm: what grade do you think this coin is ? XF-AU ? is the date of the coin 1818 ?

    mark240590 Rule Britannia !

Should be under Gold Coast mate :)

Found it under Gold Coast KM#9 1818 Ackey. .925 silver mintage-1,085 wow that's a low mintage.

    grade/value
    F-$150 VF-$350 XF-$600 UNC-$1,200
Krause values may differ from real life values.
    amazing coin.

so is your coins grade an XF+ ?

I would put it in the VF category to be honest.

Those Krause values are way out. You'll never find one for that price ha ! The Gold Coast coins are one of the few British colonial coins that when you see them advertised as "Rare" they genuinely are ! :D what a silly Mintage though ain't it. Especially given its never been re-struck like some coins were when they're such a good looking piece.

Picked a few more aussie ones. I'm only missing a handful with the half pennies. The 1914 H is nasty but I got it cheap it and it's normally an expensive one.

And a couple of silver ones. Focusing more on the threepence now but I've been finding some cheap florins lately. I also picked up a 1915 H Shilling, mintage 500,000.
