Picked up this one. It's a 1933/32 overdate. I already have one but this one cheap and I cherry picked it.

Good luck. Most of my shopping is online. I have one local coin shop that I like but they clear out their inventory at the end of the year so I need to wait a few months for them to restock.

I buy a lot off Ebay. my local and only coin shop has very few world coins. so when there's a coin show in Vegas and I when I have some money saved up some money I am there. I will give my report when I get back.

My local show has some pretty good world coin dealers. But the local dealers sadly lack in that area :(

Awhile back I posted some Russian animal coins that turned out to be reproductions. I'm pretty sure these are real. 1993 russia 50 ruble bear.jpg 1993 russia 50 rubles dolphin.jpg 1993 russia 50 rubles lizard.jpg

    1940 Ireland Shilling, NGC MS-65
    Mintage: 580,000
    Composition: .75 Silver
    Diameter: 23.6 mm
PCGS and NGC Population: 2 (none higher)

A difficult coin to find in this condition. Only 14 certification events for this date recorded by PCGS and NGC combined. This example is tied for finest known. Clean, good eye appeal, and sharply struck.

Also, this is my very first serious attempt at coin photography. Let me know what you think. :)

Just got back from the local coin show. Picked up a lot for my aussie collection, now that the pennies are almost done I seem to have moved onto the threepence. Also picked up some interesting world money and some medieval artifacts!!!!

Went to the Texas Coin show today in Grapevine. A lot of tables but not a lot of buyers. Inventory looked the same as the last show. I did spend some time with a dealer I haven't bought from before and he had a nice inventory of World Silver Crowns including some Mexican Revolutionary period coins. I wasn't prepared for that so I'll do some research and catch him next time. He did make me a good deal on some Philippine minor Silver so I pick up a few of those. All of the dealers dealing in Silver Bullion must have purchase several mounts ago. Best I could do was $18-$20. Not real bad but a lot were trying to sell in the $22+ range. I was real disappointed when I took photos of the Canada Owl and discovered fingerprints. I checked this coin closely for milk spots and rejected 2 or 3 and totally missed the prints. Oh well, it's just bullion. A quick dip will fix it. Didn't find any Mint or Proof sets that I was interested in. Almost pulled the trigger on a toned 1967 Canada set. The dealer was really pushing the toning and offered to sell me the set for $38. That's a great price but the toning was too dark, almost black. Not really attractive. The Koala came in the mail today from another source. Nice toning on the 1907 Philippines Peso. I also sent off 3 coins to ANACS. a 1877 Trade Dollar I grade VF/XF, which will probably come back in a detail slab because of a ding on the rim. I just wanted it authenticated as genuine. a 1837 Reeded Edge Half dollar I hope will come back XF and a 1934 Texas
Commemorative Half I am hoping for anything above AU50. Took my wife and my 87 year old Mother with me. My mother says they all the coins look alike to her and everyone is selling the same thing!. She had fun anyway and enjoyed the nice lunch I bought for her. 87, I forgot next Tuesday (Groundhog Day) she will be 88. Some of my recent purchases (sorry for crappy pictures).
    20160131_141812.jpg
The coin in the PCGS slab is Estonian 5 marka 1924. Hard to find in any MS grade. This one - in best available condition. I probably over payed for it, but doesn't matter... at least now I have it in decent condition.
The small brown coin at the right of the picture is Estonian 1 sent from 1929, slightly off center on one side (the other side is not off center, but the coin is slightly curved because of off-center strike, and because of this the other side is only partially struck). Nice addition to my collection :)
The rest of the coins on the picture I bought mainly because of condition and I probably slab them.

    20160131_142006.jpg
the second picture represents some newer coins.
On the top, in cards, are 2 euro commemorative coins. One is dedicated to the Estonian chess grandmaster Paul Keres, the second one is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of European flag. The Keres coin cards were sold out one day, people were standing in freezing cold (about -20 Celsius, which is approx. 0 Fahrenheit) to get one.
The multicolor silver coin on the down right is dedicated to the Estonian politician Jaan Poska, who led the peace talks with Soviet Russia during the Estonian Independence War.
The rest of the coins on the picture are mint errors. One is obviously mirror brockage, the rest are die rotation errors. Hard to find in any condition, I bought entire small collection :)

Armenia with an area of only 11,506 sq. miles and a population of less that 4 Million does not produce a lot of circulating coinage. From my research I find only 1994, then a few listed for 2003,4, and 5. No mintage numbers available. Everything else is very low mintage Silver and Gold proofs. These are Aluminum. I could only find 1 mint set listed(1994) and zero proof sets. One would think with those statistics I would have had to spend more than the $6.99 I paid for this set. No respect..

The tiny Republic of Cyprus is only 3,572 sq. Miles and a population of less that 1 Million. The 1960 on the shield represents the year of independence. I find the dove of peace interesting since research shows that just about every country in the area kicked their butt and ruled them at one time or another. I am sure they are a peace loving country. 1963 was the first year of issue since forming the republic. Krause shows 2 proof sets with 5 coins each for 1963. However they show the same KM#s for both sets. One set has a mintage of 500 and the other 24,501. Both have similar values. My guess is different packaging. No Silver involved.
The coins came in the box with each coin is a glassine envelope. It feels and looks like waxed paper. I've never came across any other coins in this type of packaging. I am sure the packaging is the reason for the cloudiness. I applied a drop of 90% alcohol on one of the Copper-Nickel coils and the cloudiness disappeared and the coin looked like a newly minted proof until the coin dried out. I think I'll let the CNs sit in some acetone for a while and see if it take the cloudiness away permanently. Brass and Aluminum stay as is.

Last count 54 and a couple more on the way.( this does not include my un-circulated Euro sets, I have all but Andorra and I have one located now. In process of negotiating the cost) I have discovered this is the least expensive way to collect uncirculated World coins. The added bonus is all the Silver I find. At one point I had about 1300 different circulated coins from about 140 countries that I was buying by the pound. Nothing wrong with that, I had a lot of fun for a lot of years. Sold off most of those along with some of my US Type coins and using the funds to buy the mint and proof sets. I had more money invested in the US Type coins than I have currently in all of the mint sets. At this point I am way ahead. Sort of recycling money already spent plus a little profit made along the way.
