This came in tonight. I found the new "crinkle finish" interesting. A little challenging to photograph. I recall one of our members having problems with getting the fields to show. I can't seem to find the thread. If someone can find it, I would like to tell them how I did it.
Picked this up as a fake, now I'm not so sure. It had a hole repaired so still a pocket piece. Cool silver And a trio of Newfie 5c - '41,'42,'42 All in all a good day.
From the time I found out there was a coin with Stalin on it I knew I had to get one. The only one of the big modern tyrants to appear on a coin to my knowledge.
Found a nice Proof Libertad. Marks are on the plastic capsule. I didn't want to remove the coin from it's original holder. Coin is #1276 of a mintage of 30,000. I guess that qualifies as early release?
This is a key date for the French 2 franc series that I've been looking for for awhile. First one I've seen for sale.
Me too!! But to bad it was sealed PR69DCameo would also bet nice. Mexico silver 1986 in this grade is semi rare. ☺
Here is an 1863 New Zealand 1 penny token that I got today. New Zealand didn't have any official currency until 1933 so these are kind of neat.
Just got this 30th anniversary proof set 2012 Libertad 2 coins--1 onza, and 1/2 onza. Mintage on this special set was limited to 1500. Overall mintages of the 1 onza are 4200, and 1500 for the 1/2 onza (none outside of this special set). This is the seller's picture, until the set arrives:
I have the mint set but figured out there was proof-like sets as well. So I picked this one up. Funny story, I sent in a best offer and for some reason he ignored my offer and lowered the price even lower then what I was offering. So I cancelled my offer and just bought it. Then a couple of well worn old frenchies.
