Cool! The only occasions (and I can count them on less than two hands) when I got silver under melt it was when I found it in the 50 cent junk bin. I believe I posted earlier in this thread a couple silver Austrian 20 Kreuzers I found that way.
I picked these today from a well known member somewhere around these parts: Can't wait to see them in hand!
I am a sucker for beautiful large silver coin designs. I find the Libertad beautiful. So, I picked up this one:
I got this 1933 Czech 20 koruna today. The bear in the upper right corner is one reason I wanted it, but not the only reason.
Oh this is just a start!!! I think the libertad to be one of the most attractive coins ever. I want the 2 oz, the 5 oz, and the 1/2 oz-- also the proofs.
Here's one I just workout out a deal for with my favorite seller. 1901 Kiangsu 5 Cash PCGS AU53 (Y158) EIVE instead of FIVE
French West Africa. 50 centimes 1944, aluminium-bronze, weight - 2 g., size - 18 mm, thickness - 1,1 mm, mintage - 10000000 pcs. Engraver: Pierre-Alexandre Morlon. London Mint. Single release only.
Just picked this one up--one of the old design libertads. This one had a rather low mintage, and some nice golden toning beginning, so it was a no-brainer for me at a good price:
The Reichsmark is cool. With the die crack and the schmutz on the coin, it looks like Hindenburg has an eye patch! Even more menacing. The '56 Centavos is very cool too!
Came across these while searching for some 5 and 10 Mark Eagle variations. Could not pass up for the price of $10 each. Have 4 of the 5 2002 mint marks. I now need the G (50 Years of TV) I have an extra F (Introduction of the Euro) I could use for trading. 2002 was the first year of the Euro, so these are the first 10 Euro Commemorative coins from Germany. Mintage was 2,000,000 each, so plenty to go around.
Last buy of the month. Here's a scarce 1905 Zacatecas Mint Peso I just purchased from my fav dealer. Will send to be graded after getting it in hand. I'm thinking AU-MS only 995,000 mintage
