This seems, to me at least, like a good grab for ~25 cents:

@spirityoda - you have seen the 1920s Italian 10 centissimo coin?

yes. I have the complete date run 1919-1937 bee set. :) there are many "coins with insects". I know most of them, but every now and then some pop up that I did not know about. there are some cheezy colorized ones out there that I am not sure if I want to get those yet or not.

That's a great buy for that price. Greek coins from this era are relatively valuable.

I have always wanted a Silver coins from Haiti to add to my collection of World Silver Coins. I was able to pick up this Proof set at a reasonable cost. Most of the Proofs from Haiti tend to be on the high side. This is an interesting set in that the COA list the coins as BU whereas the industry considers them Proofs. My inspection of the details, sharp rims and reeding makes me agree. No mintage is listed for the set but the 25 Gourdes(USA Bicentennial) has a mintage of 10,000, the 50 Gourdes (1976 Montreal Olympic) is 8,000 and the 50 (Pope Paul Holy Year) is 6,000. Someone out there collects coins with hands, spirityoda? I think the reverse is one of the more interesting designs around. Palm trees, cannons, drums, rifles, flags, anchors and a few other hidden items.

I thought this early Angola coin was pretty neat. I have a soft spot for Portuguese coins. 1923 angola 50 centavos.jpg

It's Good details at best, but for the price it's certainly worth it.

Maybe if I found the right person this could be worth $1-2. But really, it appears to me that if you're a dedicated collector of this series, you would likely just buy a VF or EF example which is not much money (~$100).

You could get more than a dollar or two for it. I collect Greek coins and I would buy this even in the condition. Pretty much all the Greek coins from this era that I see are heavily circulated. There are some people who just want the best examples but there are also people like me who can't afford the best and just want the coin.

Thanks, I imagine NGC would have picked up the re punched date, but I'll take a second look when I get it in hand.
