That's why I couldn't resist it. I've already got a set of the Puffin and Half Puffin in a capital holder but this one is so nice.
The 1929 Puffin and half-puffin pieces had mintages of only 50,000 each, but I get the feeling that almost every one of them remained hoarded in perfect UNC condition. Here is my "matched pair" of these: I like the puffin/bird design, and they have a cool/interesting story. Nice new pickup!
All nice. I really like the Martinique. I want one of those since I have a soft spot for coins from places like that which have almost no coinage. I have a few from Guadeloupe but not Martinique I don't think.
Here is one i just got today for $4. 1855, Saxony 1 Neu Groschen/10 Pfennige. It is a small, low purity silver coin, .229 fineness.
Here is a Vatican silver coin commemorating the 5oth anniversary of Pope John Paul II's priestly ordination:
Here are two others I picked up. There's nothing special about the Honduras coin but I just thought it had a very striking look.
4 new ones from today auctions 1875-1908 KwangTung 1 cash (brass) 1890-1908, KwangTung 1 Cash 1902-1905 Hupeh 10 Cash 1913 Szechuan 20 Cash (Brass)
Here are some Kazakhstan and Russian coins I got in the mail today. I thought the Kazakh coins had neat designs, and the Russian one is a big, heavy bronze coin like I like.
