Here are 2 new coins that i just got from a seller in India. Hyderabad 1324 A.H., or 1906 1 Rupee, and a 1835 British India 1 Rupee.
Been almost 6 months since I bought a coin. Amazing what can be added without the drain of less desirable material sucking cash out of the coin budget every few weeks!
2012 RUSSIA 2 ROUBLE SILVER, 1 for the topical/themed "coins with insects" collection. sellers pics... I like it.
I did some reading on the Nazi-era Reichsmark and learned that this coin was valued at $2 US at the time it was minted, even though it contains only slightly more silver than a US half dollar. Although issuing a debased currency was certainly one of the lesser Nazi crimes, it adds to the coin's historical significance.
Not really. A face value matching the intrinsic value of a coin, that was a thing of the past long before the first nazi coins were issued. But if you like such pieces for other reasons, go ahead and collect them. Christian
I also bought the Padraig Pearse Ten Shillings Coin this week. My older sons 32nd birthday so it was a present for him It cost £20 which I think is reasonable. Second son has a birthday later this year so I will get a second and probably one for myself before the Centenary.
1888 Argentina Centavo. Another one I'm selling tonight but thought I'd post it because it's a nice design. I'm trying to put a set of these together. (If I can stop selling what I buy!). Too bad I need the $...
Here is another new Indian coin i just won. Mewar State, V.S. 1985, or 1928 A.D. silver 1 rupee. It is in rough shape with all the crud on it, but it will be a hole filler and probably melted later.
