They've come down a lot in the last few years, it was only AU$7k plus commission. Since the Rare Coin Company collapsed the market has been flooded with pre-55 proofs so they're going cheap - if you could ever afford one it's now.
I like the dragon. loved that Thailand coin. amazing. what's the mintage on that 1 ? is that essai baht worth $23,000 holy cow. amazing wow factor. geez. double take. hope it is real. has it been authenticated yet ?
I'm not sure on the mintage of the Essai baht but I've only encountered about 8-10 examples, I'll send it to PCGS once I receive the half penny - it's going to no grade (harshly cleaned) but I'd prefer to have it in a holder just to match the rest of my collection. A problem free example would easily fetch USD 23,000, I paid about $6,000 net for this (some fool wire brushed the other $17,000 away).
And that's Australian $7000 which would be $5172. haha I don't even have that much money. Meanwhile I will just sit here and droll on yours.
I really look forward to seeing more of your coins. geez you must be rich. what other countries do you collect ?
One of the problems with macro photography is that it shows the good, the bad, and the ugly. Can you believe fingerprints? These are encased in hard plastic. I looked at several sets and this was the best. Almost all have carbon spots and signs of corrosion. It's no wonder if the mint is taking no precautions to preserve the coins. Fortunately I didn't pay much for it. It actually looks better that the pics show. I had a nice 1975 set that I sold on Ebay last year for about $120. Wish I had kept it, but that was before I decided to start collecting World mint and proof sets. 1990 Russia Proof Set.
My main focus is on Australian coins though I collect nice pieces from other countries (mainly Asian) as they catch my eye.
Hungary KM-492 (K5.1) 1915KB 1 Korona 0.835 Silver 5g 23mm Lettered Edge I've really gotten into the 1 Korona denomination lately, both Hungarian and Austrian, and I've been searching for beautifully toned examples and proofs lately. Here's one I recently acquired (seller pics but they are really well photographed) that I hope will get the proof designation from NGC. I had submitted one before that I thought would get a PL, but no dice, so they are apparently tough with these. There is one 1915KB 1K proof listed in the census though, so, fingers crossed.
Ottingen. Taler, 1623. Ludwig Ederhardt (1622-34). NGC MS-62. Too bad it has those minor abrasions under the "23" in the date, but they're so rare I'll settle for this.. The rest of the coin is in great shape and it I doubt there are more than 4-5 coins of this type in mint state.

This is one of my new pieces from this week. Hyderabad, 1362 4 Annas. I also have a question on the dating for this coin. There are two listing for 1362 A.H. for this coin. 1362//33 and 1362//34. What is the way to tell if it is year 33 or 34? I didn't see any other obvious numbers besides the 1362 under the palace and the 4 in the doorway.
