Not a real exciting set, unless you like Juan Carlos. I like the reverse better. One interesting note, Spain stamps the year of the design change, in this case 1975, each year. The actual year of mintage is stamped in the star, 76. 1976 Spain Proof Set. Mintage 400,000. Inexpensive set, less than $7.
Those early Juan Carlos coins are still very much like the last Franco coins, in terms of size but also with regard to most designs. The later issues looked better in my opinion. Also, the "dual date" system (authorization year, and a tiny production year) was done away with more than 30 years ago: In 1982 the Spanish mint started using its mintmark (crowned M) along with the "regular" date. But your set is almost 40 years old, and thus still has the dual date ... Christian
here's one i really liked when saw it. I believe its Vietnamese. i hope i can do something with the corrosion spots when i get it in hand
If it was from 1982, it would not have double dates any more but the M mintmark instead. The ESPAÑA '82 inscription refers to the 1982 Football World Cup in Spain. That theme becomes more obvious on the other denominations (5, 25, 50, 100 pesetas) in the series ...
2 crown size Panama coins. 1947 Balboa (same as a US dollar), and 1970 5 Balboa (over an ounce of ASW). Also a 1936 5 Mark, 1940 6p, 1946 shilling.

Now that you point it out, I think it is the only modern African coin I have seen with Latin Writing.
Picked these up today in a bucket of coins. I thought especially interesting as they are since (I didn't know of any zinc coins) and kind of fitted together. Apologies for the terrible photos and quality of coins. I guess that is why zinc is not widely used. Reichs Pfennings and Netherlands occupation coins. Actually there are also some zinc Belgique coins also but they didn't come to hand timely.
picked this up because it was 10$ so for almost double melt i couldn't resist. plus 1st slovakia coin i own
It's been a while since I've been on. Hope everybody is well. Here's a little beauty I won over a Spink.
I got this coin few days ago. Kingdom of Serbia. 2 para 1904, bronze, mintage - 12500000 pcs. Ruler: king Peter I. Single release only.
I'm not sure I have seen the "In God We Trust" on any other coins but our own. Were we the originator of this exact verbage?
