i just got an 1869 spain provisional government 1 peseta. am i reading the cataog values correctly for this?
652. would be nice if it was 653. i paid less than 10 for it, i was just suprised that catalog values are so high for a 7 million mintage coin.
Here is 2 coins 1 I have had to many years to list.but has not toned to much but never was used to buy and thing. This 2nd one was used to buy something but looks about Unc/AU55-58, I picked up last summer at a yard sale it was white. since then it has toned a bit. Kings&Queens but ladys 1st
1953 Ireland Half Penny, PCGS MS66 RD Mintage: 2,400,000 PCGS and NGC Population: 7/0 I love red Irish bronze, and I don't see it too often. When I do, I'm willing to pay as much as is required. This is a top pop coin, with only 6 others graded as high.
The first coin is a 1865 gold 4 Escudos from Spain. The second coin is a 1755 gold 1/2 Escudo from Spain. Both were given to me by my Father-in-law. My wife is Spanish and her Father brought them with him from Spain during his last visit. He is not a coin collector but these had been in the family for quite a while and knew I collected Spanish coins.
In my experience Spanish coins are overpriced in Krause, meaning that I am always able to buy them for less than the book value.
I got this in the mail today. It's supposedly a 1 liard from Liege. This is the one century that I don't have a Krause for so I wasn't able to look it up, but I bought it because it was in such good shape and it was only a few dollars.
NGC lists it as Thailand 2 Att X#9 - date 112 (1893) but has a Note on it- 'Believed to be a modern concoction.' http://www.ngccoin.com/poplookup/world-coin-prices.aspx?category=137316&worldcoinid=340423
