A range of British copper & bronze Pennies just arrived, the 1825 is the poorest, the 1950 & 1951 are quite scarce dates. I have a bucket full of mixed coins to pick up tomorrow from a contact out in the sticks, sounds promising on the phone.
Ummm, maybe it's because I'm a Canadian and good ol' Queen Vickie was our first coin-Monarch, but for whatever reason => man, I absolutely love the young-Vickie coins!! (they're total winners!!) Congrats to both, Dave & jj00, for posting a few out-standing young-Vickies over the past two days!! (bravo, gentlemen ... bravo)
I got lucky today buying a hoard from my contact in the sticks, an hours drive away. 21 kilos (just over 46 pounds) of mixed world coinage dating from 1760 to present day I paid £40 and I have already recovered £20 in spendable and exchangeable money. There is a good £50 in scrap copper, probably £10 in brass and £50 in scrap silver. Some nice uncirculated coins half of which I will keep in my collection. I `ve not even got started on the banknotes Here`s a scan of just a few tasty morsels, Swiss silver, Palestinian, Dutch, German ,Greek. a pleasing day.
Impressive haul! Its always fun going through piles of world coins. Dont forget to take the time to check for errors or possible rare dates.
This is a eye opener!!! 4 Sure Dave D Please post how many 1961 Swiss 1Frank coins you find. On 1 of my 3 tour in Germany I picked up a 40 coin roll 1961 1F dealer claimed that the mintage was a very low.
Just got these in today from a trade with a user on another forum. I'm absolutely enamored of the balboa. Might be my new favorite coin.
