For a coin from the 1950s, that is a pretty innovative design. Maybe not actually beautiful but the text bits "stamped" into the piece look interesting ... Christian
KM 177 BOLIVIA 50 Centavos 1909 H (medio Boliviano). Good strike uncirculated. Should grade MS63. Nice buy for 30 US.
Not sure who the model was, but the reverse design - with the woman planting a small linden tree - was in use for many years. It's just that the country name and CoA varied ... This type of 1 koruna coin was first issued between 1957 and 1960, and looked like this. When the country name was changed from CSR to CSSR, it was modified, and that type was minted between 1962 and 1990. Your type was used for the CSFR coins, in 1991 and 1992, so two years indeed. Why a linden tree? That has a special relevance in several Slavic countries, see here. And the design featuring a woman planting a small tree, as a symbol, can be found on coins from several countries. In Germany for example it was a little oak tree. Christian
Just wanted to put a bid in for this one, then I noticed they do not ship to Chile http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chile-1828-...ary-Latin-American-Crown-Ex-Leu-/370885844597
One thing I learned about South Americans coins due US Army as I spent a lot of my Army in Ecuador +Peru. Is that a lot south American country's. From 1-????-1945 they used a lot of mints and some not in their homeland. I guess that is why I like to find the old old and silver and some copper coins
Nice Greg!!!! I wish I did more coin buying in Germany? Staff Sergeants do more baby sitting When your in the 1st CavWith no War 1973-1976 #1 1-0
I had to put some shadow on these pictures in order to get some contrast since the coin is blast white and has no obvious wear or damage. It also has a beautiful cartwheel. Only 4 specimens have been graded by the NGC with MS63 being the top. This coin might just make that grade or better. The 1895 is more commonly found with the 1897 being rare.
