The old one may actually be newer than the new one. ;) The Austrian Mint still makes the MTT. That Steyr coin is quite attractive!

Just a 1723 Woods Hibernia Half Penny that looks worn but problem free for $12.68 total cost today.
Not bad for a US Colonial coin from Ireland.

I have about 10 MTT's and find them impossible to date. Are they 20 years old, or 2 years old? Besides the originals, this can be tough.

John, here is a link to help you ID the MT's. Once you get the hang of what you are looking for. its not so hard. I have around a dozen MT's from different eras. http://www.theresia.name/en/index.html

I actually don't sell any coins. It's kinda my thing to just collect and stack. A couple I got off ebay, but most of them came from here: http://www.goldeneaglecoin.com/Foreign_Coins_&_Notes/Austrian_Coins_&_Currency not a bad price. These are restrikes, not sure on the actual year they're shipping though. I think over the last 100 years or so of the MTT's are considered restrikes. Like it says on the site "first minted in 1780, and continuously restruck since 1853". - You might find a better price, but I've never had any issues with this company.

Yeah they were struck with "1780 X" for the trade coinage because Arab traders wouldn't use anything other :) thanks anyway though !

This nice uncirculated silver (.90 fine, 18g) Brazilian coin came in yesterday. It is to celebrate Brazils 150th anniversary. Only paid $10 USD for it too.[IMG][IMG]

    NEWPS from this last weekend

Gleaned several boxes of world coins and came up with this batch on the cheap.

Can you spot the coin from the Riau Archipelago? Of course, it is no longer legal tender in the area.

Can you spot the coin from Republic of The Gambia?

I really like the look of the two Brazil coins (lower left side). They just have the appearance of two great coins. Also, the French 100 Franc coin is ultra flashy and ultra high grade IMO.
