Took some fight, but I prevailed. Had to have this one. It checks off the three main criteria I was after: (1) Straight-graded. (2) 1700s-dated. (3) CircCam contrast and nice eye appeal. This is now the most expensive coin I have owned in 46 years of collecting. It is also my first US silver from the 1700s. (I have owned several coppers.) I’ve owned at least a half-dozen clunker cars that didn’t cost as much as this coin.
HOLY COW. That is one fantastic coin, Rob! Congratulations on this win. I imagine this one will reside on the nightstand for some time!
A coin worth stretching for, undeniable eye appeal and history. Superb example and congrats! ‘Tis also the last date that could have passed through the hands of George Washington…
I'm happy for you but sad for me. I have one but it looks nothing like your beauty. Congratulations, thanks for sharing, and good luck.
Exceptional! Definitely more costly than my vehicle at the moment. These are three hard-to-hit criterion for coins of this age, it appears. You saw your chance and took it. You have a lot to be proud of for this one!
